Next Gen Skills Academy

NextGen Skills Academy (NextGen) is an industry-led education initiative to develop the next generation of talent for the Games, Animation and VFX industries. We develop and offer Higher Level Apprenticeships, new entry level qualifications, short courses for professionals and taster sessions for young people — all designed to meet the skills needs of employers.

NextGen has received £6.5m of investment from industry and government. Investors include the UK Commission for Employment and Skills, plus a consortium of industry partners including Double Negative, Framestore, Moving Picture Company, Microsoft, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe and Ubisoft Reflections.

We’re led by Framestore, Amersham and Wycombe College – a leading provider of vocational courses and training and we're supported by a range of stakeholders including BFI, Creative England, Creative Skillset, TIGA and ukie.
